WE are doing our best to outshine those southern softies from London and those good people of China by aiming to become the latest destination on the planet to break a wordl record in what will be Yorkshire’s biggest charity event of the summer.
The inaugural Great Yorkshire Duck Race sponsored by Cherry Valley takes place on Sunday 9 August at Yorkshire’s ‘crown jewel’ – the idyllic surroundings of Bolton Abbey, near Skipton North Yorkshire.
Our goal is to break the existing world record, held by China, by racing our ducks down a 1km stretch of water on the River Wharfe.
You can play your part by buying a duck for just £2.00 at www.thegreatyorkshireduckrace.co.uk and in turn help some truly wonderful good causes.
Please help our good causes
Tickled Pink Breast Cancer Campaign.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance
Little Heroes Children’s Cancer Charity
Professional Cricketers’ Association Benevolent Fund
It’s quite simple. All we need to do is to get you to buy a duck for just £2.00 and then tell a friend to buy one and if everyone can manage that then we will get very close to breaking a world record – how good would that be!!
The more people you tell, the more chance we will have in raising money for good causes.
Everyone who buys a duck will also be entered into a FREE prize draw to have a chance of winning a year’s free shopping courtesy of Asda.
The event has already captured the imagination of some of the country’s most prominent sporting celebrities. The likes of boxing sensation Amir Khan, dancing and cricketing legend Darren Gough, Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce, former Great Britain rugby league star Barrie McDermott, Yorkshire cricketers Anthony McGrath, Tim Bresnan and Matthew Hoggard and Jeff Stelling and his Soccer Saturday team are all officially endorsing the event and have agreed to be filmed in a hilarious viral sketch, which will be shown across a number of social networking sites on the internet.
Be part of our world record attempt and help us bring the record to ‘God’s own County’
