City recruitment firm is on the ball
November 2008

Most people attending matches at Bradford City probably want to forget about work.
But a new partnership between the club and a Bradford recruitment consultancy could provide the seeds to boost business activity through a shared interest in football.
Billy Bingham, founder of Shine Recruitment, is an avid City fan and has just signed up as the club’s official recruitment agency for non-playing staff.
Based in the Gumption centre in Glydegate, Shine specialises in recruitment for sales, technical and executive posts for a range of companies.
Mr Bingham, who founded his firm about a year ago, said: “An interest in football can open many doors as it is a sport followed by many business people.
“Talking about the game can break the ice and help the process of doing business.
“There is a ready-made business community among City supporters which could provide a springboard for more trade.”
Neil Harrison, the Bantams’ commercial manager, said he was keen to generate more partnerships with local firms.
He said: “It’s in the club’s interest to generate business for and between local firms, especially as the trading climate gets tougher.
“There must be hundreds of business people among our regular supporters who probably don’t think about business when they’re on the terraces “But, if we can harness their collective interest in the game, we could generate a really good business network that could boost trade between our supporters in the business community.
“It’s an idea at the moment, but I hope the partnership with Shine and others could lead down this road.
“The club is determined to develop more partnerships with local firms and get a dialogue going between them.”
